Not that I say we need change, but this is a public organization. Everyone has a right to call for election. There is nothing wrong.
Only issue is, whoever wants to contest has to come out with public profile as mentioned by someone before. There are only few people who are openly public and with known real identity on this forum - thats sad!

Thanks for ur support and understanding. I think we better let these guys take a shot at what they are about to do. Immature and narrow minded is what they are and thats how they wanna be. Looks like they've been watching those Indian vigilante movies a lot and they think that they can get away with fighting a foreign Govt agency. They'll understand what we meant when they receive a cold shoulder from USCIS :D.

BTW, I used to have several red dots before and I don't know why they changed it to green. They still have a block on one of my IP address.

I think dates won't (and should not ) move much. So at the end of year we can see big jump and then may be people like me can file I-1485.

There are 2 options in my opinion.
1. Secure an appointment with the local ASC and have them expedite this case if you want to travel early. They may require some supporting documents. The appointment can be made via Infopass at http://infopass.uscis.gov/index.php
2. Call USCIS at the number on your receipt notice. Select a series of numbers as per the prompts to talk to a Service Rep. Tell them your urgency to travel and they will expedite your case. It will take 5 business days from the date the request gets expedited to get a response back from USCIS.

I studied in IIT (B.Tech), got M.S. and Ph.D. from here and now a professor. My observations/opinions are as follows:

I have the misfortune of teaching 100's of students who come here with an Anna University (or Osmania) B.Tech./B.E. degree in engineering, and knows absolutely nothing. And I am not exaggerating: they cannot write an elementary program in any language (apparently they learn something called "theoretical" computer programming in which they do not actually learn to program); does not know any mathematics (most cannot integrate x*exp(x); one student could not tell me what is f(0.7) by looking at a graph of x vs. f(x)) and cannot operate simple lab equipments. It is just unbelievable! Anyway, moving on.
I am not sure why people jump onto drawing conclusions so fast...look at the above post from a so called professor....he encountered a couple of a folks from some universities & concludes that those universities are just crappy....!! Many of my colleagues are from the professors' "oh-so-good" list of IITs/univs and they are no better!! (In fact, some of them suck so bad)!!

Now another question for you prof....how come are you working in a university that's giving admissions to such a bunch of crappy folks...!!?? 1 point we should make to the lawmakers is to make an administraive change to give 3 years extensions and abolish 1 year extensions. As 1 year extensions are not suffecient a very solid case can be presented for that case.
1) Driver license, lit of state doesn't give DLs if you have less than 1 year left on Visa
2) H1B Extension is taking 4-6 months
3) No Visa stamping in U.S.
The problem are just too many we need a proper channel to raise our voice to them
Also we need to ask for some accountability and transparency in the Backlog processing. All of us (victims) with LCs in the backlog centers have been reduced to foolish gamblers trying to figure out what is happening with our applications.

I mean Congress already authorized these ? Canot DOL/ UCIS make a judgement based on their own ?

There is no law to allow re-capture of visa numbers as of yet. In fact it says the opposite in the existing laws - That the visa numbers may not be re-captured.
There has been one case of visa recapture law passed during the Clinton administration and they did not allow a rollover recapture (I believe they recaptured the visa numbers that were lost between 1995 and 2000 only (please correct me if I am wrong about the years))

The dates had approached within two months of my priority date then BAM! Unavailable. What a disappointment. This system is just so arbitrary and capricious. Makes no sense. But then maybe it does, I'm still here, working.

Till last year EB 3 would get additional visa from the leftovers of ROW, both EB2 and EB 3-I would benefit from the ROW visia, now all the visas are going to EB2, so i agree with you, there is little hope for EB 3.
Why are there no repurcussions if USCIS admits that they were incorrectly allocating the visa earlier. they can suddenly change the rules and everybody keeps quiet....strange.
EB-3 won't need help when everyone else is done because the only people left to allocate visas would be EB-3 only . I guess we are just in for a long long wait.

They most of the approvals are of US Master degree and above as it is straight fwd EB2 no need to verify skill set etc..
